Reflections on Fear, Memory, and the Urgency of Peace
No Safe Place is a visual meditation on growing up during the Cold War—a time marked by drop drills, the looming threat of nuclear annihilation, and the quiet terror woven into everyday life. These works reflect the psychological toll of living under constant threat, both real and imagined.
But this series is not just about the past. Its urgency lives in the present. With wars escalating across the globe and gun violence surging in the United States, the fear once rooted in atomic anxiety now echoes in classrooms, neighborhoods, and daily headlines.
Through this series, art becomes activism—a call to confront the cycles of violence we normalize and the fear we inherit. No Safe Place asks us to imagine a world where safety is not a privilege, but a shared right—and peace is not postponed.
